| Good PC supplier:
Elonex offer as good advice before they sell a product as they do afterwards. I own or have owned more than one Elonex PC. They will still give useful and free advice on a machine purchased from them in 1994. |
Bad PC supplier:
I wouldn't touch Mesh again with a very long bargepole. They seem to see no moral difficulty with advertising a particular specification of PC (and sending it for review) but then when receiving an order explicitly for that specified PC - they deliver one which has a lower specification. This is in addition to delivering a PC which is "dead on arrival" and with a dent in it. |
| Good hardware supplier:
Very friendly support from Gigabyte
and provision of good value upgrade by them.

| Good ISP providers:
EdNet (based in Edinburgh) offers a highly commendable service in my experience. |
Bad ISP provider:
Extracts from a couple of emails sent to me by BTopenworld speak for themselves: "We can confirm that in the confusion your account was closed on ... the date you began experiencing connection problems. We have since amended our records and reactivated your account with immediate effect. " In another email ... "We understand that the service can get busy during the peak hours and this may be why you have not been able to access the service." So much for Surf Anytime! |
